They move effortlessly in their tracks and are a perfect solution for those extra-wide views or hard to reach places. They fit into any double window space or wider and even combine nicely with traditional double hung windows without affecting style.

Gliding windows are also suitable in areas like walkways, decks, and other outside the window traffic areas because the sash do not project outward. At Renewal by Andersen® we make the frames on our gliding windows as small as possible to maximize the view.

A gliding window consists of two operating sash in a single frame. A gliding-stationary window consists of one operating and one stationary sash in a single frame. A gliding-picture window has two operating sash, one on each side of a stationary sash with everything contained within one frame. Operating sash can be secured by a cam-type sash lock, and a removable insect screen can be installed on the exterior of the operating sash.
